My weekend at Motor-GT Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, AL; is one to remember. Between the drama, the weather and all the controversy surrounding the race, Armando Ferrer and “TeamHurtByAccident.com” came on top.

Most of you have seen me training Armando at the gym the last 3 weeks. We’ve been working on an endurance and strength type of training. In just three weeks Armando added about 7 pounds of lean muscle mass and gained knowledge on sports nutrition, sleep, and proper exercise.

After all the hype on the race, Armando, who rides the No. 69 TeamhurtByAccident.com bike, slid off the course and into the gravel at Turn 14 near the entrance to pit road, and was hospitalized on Friday after crashing during his qualifying session. He was at the hospital till midnight, yet thankfully he didn’t have broken bones or internal bleeding.

I arrived at the track Saturday morning and checked on Armando to see how he was doing. He didn’t look that good though, so after a series of pep talk, stretching and massage (a lot of pain in his muscles and joints), Armando decided he wasn’t going to throw away all of the effort he had put into his conditioning. He suit up and decided to race. WOW! I mean it was raining, we had lightning, tornado watch in event, the race was postponed for a while and all the drama with him and the team was crazy.

The result, the team decided to play a strategy along with our second racer #64 of the Motor-GT2 category. IT PAID OFF!!! We won both races!!!

Armando went from the ER all the way to the podium… incredible! Now more drama came into the weekend when for a weird and controversial “ruling” they stripped TeamHurtByAccident.com of the win and placed them on second place. The team took the news really bad but as professionals everyone kept their cool, and decided to submit an official protest. The other teams and the media where congratulating the team on the win, even the supposed winning team knew we had the race.

All said and done, I’ve just heard that the official review of the race is that TeamHurtByAccident.com is still pending, however, as of now the team is tied for first place in the championship standings.

My proud moment was when Armando acknowledged that his training program was the key factors that helped him overcome the obstacles he faced and realized that by working your body and your mind at high levels the impossible is nothing.

I am most appreciative of the privilege provided by owner of TeamHurtByAccident.com C.J. Czaia, to work with the team and be a part of this success. I look forward to keeping close ties with team as they are in the hunt of this year’s championship.

I’ll post some pictures on Facebook (I got a few but there is more to come soon, as I get them): http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=757805649&ref=profile#/album.php?aid=254049&id=757805649
